In a September 2020 interview, producer Lee Ju-ri described the channel's rule this way: "It may look like a music show, but we only shoot one team a week." Yet the U-KNOW stage for 'Time's Tickin'' that STUDIO CHOOM published came out as seven videos over four days. One team was filmed; seven videos went up.

One note before the numbers. Most Shorts on this channel are cut from the main stage video, so the analysis below counts by release (one song), not by individual upload.

One U-KNOW Stage Came Out as Seven Videos in Four Days

On July 22, 2026, Korean outlets reported that U-KNOW's single title track 'Time's Tickin'' would be released as STUDIO CHOOM ORIGINAL content on the Mnet digital studio M2 channel.

In Dhesy's data the rollout actually started a day earlier, with a July 21 teaser. The main video passed 960K views on July 22, and three short clips followed the same day. A color-coded clip arrived July 23, and an individual cam on July 24. Four days, seven videos.

One stage split into seven videos, and the named positions those seven landed in, the slots, repeat every time.

A Channel That Shoots One Team a Week Published 1,084 Videos in 2025

The channel opened on October 24, 2018. Dhesy's data holds 4,567 videos from it, against 6.26 million subscribers and more than 5.1 billion cumulative views. Annual uploads grew from 72 in 2019 to 1,084 in 2025, with 565 already logged through July 24, 2026.

"One team a week" and "1,084 videos a year" look contradictory. Where the gap gets filled is the question this piece follows.

Did the number of shoots grow that much?

No. In Dhesy's data, only 39 distinct song releases are identifiable by title in 2026. Thirty-nine songs produced 565 videos.

Videos per song in 2026: an average of 10.1

10.1 is the average and 11 is the median. In 2019 the same figures were 2.2 and 1. What grew was not shooting frequency but how finely one filmed stage gets divided.

Are the slots named fresh each time?

The names are fixed. Teaser, main video, member cams, color-coded clip: hardened slots that each new song drops into. The slot exists first; the material arrives later.

Videos Per Song Rose From 2.2 in 2019 to 10.1 in 2026

Grouping the 4,567 videos logged between October 2018 and July 2026 by the song title in each headline yields 461 releases. That is an average of 7.8 videos per release, a median of 9, and a maximum of 19. The two 19-video releases are IVE's 'Baddie' and RIIZE's 'Get A Guitar', both from 2023.

By year, only 2023 dipped, from 8.7 to 8.0. Every other stretch keeps climbing.

The table below places that curve next to annual upload counts.

2025858.9101,084

Releases grew 3.4 times between 2019 and 2025, from 25 to 85. Uploads grew 15 times, from 72 to 1,084. The multiplier came from decomposition, not from filming.

The 11-Video Bundle for ME:I's 'Flower Road' Shows the Sheet

The release published just before U-KNOW's stage was 'Flower Road' by the Japanese group ME:I. A teaser landed July 20, the main video July 21, a color-coded clip July 22, and individual member cams July 23.

Counting only videos whose titles carry the song name gives 11.

SlotVideosDatesRole
Teaser and main video2July 20 and 21Long-form, main video at 1.18M views
Individual member cams7July 23Long-form, one per member
Derivative Shorts (song titled)2July 21Clips cut from the main video
Song-titled total11July 20 to 23One release
Including untitled clips15July 20 to 23Same-window baseline

The four-video gap comes down to how the titles are written. The release count keys on a song name wrapped in single quotation marks, and the color code clip writes the song name without them while the three member visual Shorts from July 21 carry no song name at all. So they sit outside the 11 even though they came from the same release.

How many member cams attach is what moves the slot count. This release drew seven, and all seven are filled by a single main shoot.

The Same Slot Sheet Is Reused No Matter Where the Act Comes From

ME:I is a group based in Japan. Yet the 11 videos just described share their slot layout with a domestic idol release: teaser, main video, Shorts cut from the main video, color-coded clip, and finally one cam per member. A new act brings nothing new to design.

In Dhesy's 4,567-video record, the most-viewed video tagged STUDIO CHOOM ORIGINAL is KATSEYE's 'Gnarly' at 39.97 million views. The same group's 'PINKY UP' filled the slots one by one as well: 10.18 million views on the main video, 14.09 million on the visual-only Short, and 6.6 million on the Full Focused single-member cut.

Notation is part of the sheet too. In Dhesy's data 3,722 titles, 81.5%, contain Korean, mostly as a Korean rendering placed beside a Latin-script artist name. The remaining 845 use Latin script only. Subtitle tags sit in the parenthesis position behind the series name.

Thirty-four videos carry (ENG SUB) behind the series name and 52 carry (ENG/JPN). The subtitle tag is itself a fixed slot at the tail of the title. Swap the artist, add one more language tag, and the slot sheet stays the same. What changes is the names written into it.

The 373 Shorts Are Cuts From Main Videos

Of the 4,567 videos in Dhesy's data, 1,237 are classified as Shorts. Among the 435 Shorts whose titles carry a song name, 373 (85.7%) match a song that also has a long-form video on the same channel. The main video comes first; the Short is cut from it.

The derivative clips carry fixed names too. ColorPicked (168 videos), VisualFocused (163), and behind clips (73) are all Shorts slots. A new song opens all of them at once.

Like rates run 5.69% on Shorts against 3.29% on long-form. That is not a verdict on which format wins; it marks a difference in role. The main video is the slot where a full stage is watched, and the derivative clip is the slot where a single moment gets checked.

The Series Name Changed Overnight in May 2024, and the Slots Stayed

The last upload labeled BE ORIGINAL is dated May 15, 2024. The first labeled STUDIO CHOOM ORIGINAL is dated May 16, 2024. The banner swapped in one day, but the slot structure underneath carried on. Member cams and color-coded clips simply moved under the new name.

The notation switched once as well. Early titles carried the series name in brackets up front; now it hangs off the back after a pipe. In 2019 the split was 42 front-tagged against 5 back-tagged. In 2026 it is 196 against 369. The move reads as handing the opening characters to the artist and song names.

A January 2022 report noted that the BE ORIGINAL video of Stray Kids' 'God's Menu', published in June 2020, had passed 50 million views for the first time on the channel. In Dhesy's 4,567-video record it now stands at 76.44 million views, the channel's highest.

Artist Of The Month has the fewest videos and the highest per-video average. Volume slots and flagship slots are designed separately. MIX & MAX, launched in April 2022, was described in contemporaneous reporting as pairing artists who had already delivered solo performances on Artist Of The Month, which makes one slot the casting supply for another.

Does Adding Slots Actually Add Reach?

Read this far and the answer looks simple: more slots, more videos, more reach. It is not that clean.

Attention on a single song is finite, and the more slots you add the more that attention splits across uploads. Average views per video fall arithmetically. The member-cam slot averaging 143K views with a 44K median is a product of that same structure.

The preconditions are not light either. Capturing seven individual member cams requires a multi-camera set covering one stage simultaneously, and before that, the ability to book the artist. Outside a broadcaster's studio, raising slot counts alone does not raise total reach. The check for your own channel is single: how many videos can genuinely be pulled from one shoot without shooting again.

When the Slot Sheet Is Standing, an Outside Series Lands in a Month

On February 24, 2026, multiple outlets reported that the channel had passed 6 million subscribers seven years after launch, with cumulative views tallied at 4.6 billion at the time. In the same coverage, CP Lim Tae-hong said the integration would "develop this into a comprehensive platform for dance content" and called it "a new starting point for the global spread of dance performance."

The concrete step was transferring M2's performance series MOVE TO PERFORMANCE. The announcement came February 24; in Dhesy's data the first upload on this channel is dated March 24. Exactly one month later the new series was running on the existing slots, and 38 videos had accumulated by July 26.

For a channel planning to feature overseas acts or add another language tag, the order is clear. Instead of increasing shoot volume first, write the sheet of named slots: how one shoot divides, and into how many videos. Once the slot names are fixed, changing the performer or adding a subtitle tag leaves nothing new to design.

The observed lead time is one month. If another series moves over from M2 in the second half of 2026, the gap from announcement to first upload is likely to land around a month again. With the 2026 median at 11 videos per release, that first release would split into roughly ten videos as well.

FAQ

What is STUDIO CHOOM, and how is it related to M2?

Korean outlets consistently describe it as the STUDIO CHOOM YouTube channel of Mnet's digital studio M2. It specializes in K-pop performance video, opened on October 24, 2018, and holds 4,567 videos in Dhesy's data against 6.26 million subscribers. Reporting on February 24, 2026 marked its passing of 6 million subscribers seven years after launch, and on January 26, 2026 it won the Dance Impact category at the 2025 Choreo Awards, with director Kim Eun-ji named as recipient.

What is the difference between BE ORIGINAL and STUDIO CHOOM ORIGINAL?

The banner name differs; the slot structure continues. In Dhesy's data the last BE ORIGINAL upload is May 15, 2024 and the first STUDIO CHOOM ORIGINAL upload is May 16, 2024. After the overnight swap, the sequence of teaser, main video, member cams, and derivative clips stayed intact.

What is UNFILTERED CAM?

It is an individual cam that isolates one member from the main stage performance. Dhesy's data holds 1,914 of them, starting January 17, 2020 and continuing through July 24, 2026. They average 143K views with a 44K median, which places them in the volume slot.

In what order are STUDIO CHOOM videos released?

Looking at July 2026 releases in Dhesy's data, a teaser goes up first, the main video and derivative Shorts follow the next day, then the color-coded clip, and finally the individual member cams. ME:I's 'Flower Road' ran from the July 20 teaser to the July 23 cams, four days in total. The time of day cannot be pinned down from verified data.

Which artists appear on STUDIO CHOOM?

Dhesy's data yields 781 distinct Korean artist tokens from titles. The most frequent are TOMORROW X TOGETHER (39 videos), LE SSERAFIM (34), and ENHYPEN (31), followed by BOYNEXTDOOR and ZEROBASEONE at 29 each. Groups based outside Korea appear in the same Korean-beside-Latin format, such as andTEAM at 16 videos and ME:I at 15.

Methodology: Based on Dhesy platform data covering 6,898 brands and 51,396 channels. The 4,567 videos logged for STUDIO CHOOM were regrouped into 461 releases by the song title in each headline, and series tags, subtitle tags, and derivative status were classified from title tokens. Figures are limited to what Dhesy has collected and may differ from the channel's full upload history. Analysis window: 2018-10-24 to 2026-07-24. Data source: Dhesy Last updated: 2026-07-26
